Publications of Otsuka Department of Clinical and Molecular Nutrition, and the succeeding Otsuka Department of Molecular Nutrition, both being the endowed departments are the root of Institute for Genome Research.  

The root of Institute for Genome Research is the endowed department supported by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory Cooperation.  The first endowed department of the University of Tokushima named as  "Otsuka Department of Clinical and Molecular Nutrition" started from April 1, 1990 and lasted to March 31, 2002.  The succeeding endowed department renamed as "Otsuka Department of Molecular Nutrition" started from April 1, 1999 and ended on March 31, 2002.
